Veteran Artiste To Perform At Merritone Family Fun Day
New York: The Merritone Family Fun Day and Outdoor Picnic, the largest outdoor Caribbean event of its kind in the USA will again take place at Lake Quassy, Route 64, Middlebury, Connecticut on Sunday, July 8th 2007. As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, event head honcho Conroy Allison recently announced that he has confirmed a veteran reggae artiste to perform at the event.
“This year being our tenth anniversary, we had to do something extra special for patrons who have supported us over the years. The challenge is to bring on board an artiste that compliments and exemplifies what the event is all about and we are confident we have found that artiste” Allison told the Weekly Star.
While he would not let the name of the artiste out of the bag just yet, he did say, “I can tell you the artiste is extremely popular in the Jamaican, reggae community and he is just so smooth. “
In outlining other plans for the event Allison disclosed that the ‘VP Records Talent Showcase’ will again be included in the list of activities for the day. The competition w ill be open to singers, djs and dub poets looking for an opportunity to showcase their talent. The popular ‘Royal Caribbean Bakery Patty Eating Contest’ that has been a hit with patrons over the years will again have two separate categories.
