Senator Dr, the Hon. Ronald A. Robinson will spend Sunday morning at a special worship service at the Bronx Westchester Community Church, at 358 South Ninth Avenue, Mt. Vernon, New York.
The 11:00 am worship service will be the first annual for the Union of Jamaican Alumni Associations (UJAA) and will be a fixed part of the calendar of events for new president, Karlene Largie.
The worship service is perfect fit for Dr. Robinson, who has portfolio responsibility for the Jamaica Diaspora.
With UJAA being one of the more organized units of the Diaspora, Consul General Mrs. Geneive Brown Metzger has wasted no time in solidifying the relationship, rewarding the organization with more face time at a number of community events.
The partnership resulted in another successful staging of the union’s signature event – Mega Raffle – on Saturday, March 28, at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Queens.
Dr. Robinson is championing the cause of the Jamaica Diaspora Movement and has overseen the creation of the Jamaica Diaspora Foundation, the Jamaica Diaspora Institute and the Jamaica Diaspora Bond.
Before heading to church on Sunday, Dr. Robinson will meet with sections of the Jamaican community in Brooklyn on Friday evening and the Bronx on Saturday evening in what promises to be engaging discourse.
He is scheduled to meet with Jamaican nationals in New Jersey (Wednesday), Connecticut (Thursday) and Philadelphia (Friday and Saturday).
