ZIP FM’s Nikki Z To Host Western Bembe Invasion, July 5, 2008, Westmoreland

New York Entertainment Movement Inc will be staging an event on July 5th, 2008 dubbed Western Bembe Invasion to be held at Rickie’s Motors, Negril Spot, Westmoreland. The intent of New York Entertainment is to promote a version of the Kingston based Bembe Dancehall event which is one of the hottest weekly events in Jamaica. As such the event will feature several members of the Bembe Squad Razz & Biggy, Richie Feelings, Jigzy & Penny Bling, along with top Dancehall acts Bounty Killer & Ninja Man. The event will also feature two of the most popular radio personalities ZIP FM’s Nikki Z & IRIE FM’s GT Taylor along with his GT’s Aggregation Soundsystem and Western owned sound Hard Rock. There will also be a dance contest open to all dancers, the top three winners of the contest will benefit from cash prizes and trophies.

Western Bembe Invasion will be different from other parties in many respects. This event will be a high quality production in a secured environment with premium bar and restaurant services provided at affordable prices. It will provide an excellent opportunity for the brands to connect with the consumers in an environment where it controls the experience and delivers a high impact experience. We expect that with our exciting lineup of top Dancehall artists, selectors & radio personalities our event will attract thousands of patrons.

Over the years New York Entertainment has successfully staged various events both in New York and Jamaica, working with sound-systems such as Stone Love, Metro Media, Bass Odyssey, Young Hawk, Top Secret, Black Kat, Reggae Twins, Skerrit Boy among others. The most recent events staged by the company was, the annual Unity Is Strength family fun day and stage show, in Comfort, Manchester; Memorial Day Weekend Black & White Affair in Buffalo, NY and Chicago, IL; Caribbean USA Link UP and Everybody Dance in Buffalo; NY

New York Entertainment Movement Records label is growing from strength to strength, while working with established and new talents the first project, Controversy rhythm released in 2006 featured songs from popular acts such as “Unity Is Strength” Sizzla, “Long Run” – Luciano, “Gang Warfare” – Richie Spice, “Take It with A Smile” – Chuck Fenda & “Controversy”– Natty King, ‘Bosie Slave’ – Natural Blacks, ‘Wonder and Sign’ – Hero, ‘Determine’ –Uton Green, ‘Most High’– Jah Mason, ‘Only You’- Junior Reid, ‘No Love’– Fantan Mojah, ‘Some One To Love’ – Anthony B, ‘Muss Buss’ – Homa Heights, ‘Don’t Come Home’ – Hyabukie, ‘Time Getting Red’ – Mr. Perfect, ‘When You Smile’ – Mark Wonder, ‘Higher Trod’ – Turbulance, ‘Live As One’ – Levardis, and ‘Gun Clown’ – Sexy Pebbles. These singles has gotten heavy airplay and has made quite an impact across the world. Jah Mason single is a favorite on his album Wheat & Tears.
