World Reggae Dance Hits the Stage on Monday, August 4th, 2014, Kingston

The 2014 World Reggae Dance Championship will take the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre by storm on Monday, August 4 at 8:00 p.m. with the Grand Finals.

Twelve Jamaican teams including Overload Skankaz, Dynamix Team, STR8 Edge Society, Hectic Dymond, Equanoxx, Untouchable Squad, High Voltage, Endevarous, Inkursion Unit, X-Klusive Dancers, Flava Flava Dancers and Ice Lynk Skankaz in addition to Japanese groups, 2013 Champions Attack Dem Squad, 2013 second place winner Yallow Yellow and the 2014 J finalist JA to JA will face-off for the Championship title.

The Japanese have snatched the title for two successive years; however, the Jamaicans are eager to recapture this year’s trophy, over two million in cash and prizes and a return trip to Japan to perform at the One Love Jamaica Festival.

Tickets for the Show can be had at the Portmore Mall Pharmacy, Sangster’s Book Store (Mall Plaza, Portmore, Sovereign, King Street), JCDC Offices and online, Tickets cost adults $900 pre sold, $1000 at the gate and children $400 while public sector employees are able to purchase tickets at $800 with identification.

Dancehall artistes Voicemail and Mr. Vegas will provide entertainment for the evening’s Show which will begin at 8:00 p.m. The Championship is sponsored by Wray & Nephew, Television Jamaica, RJR 94 FM, IRIE FM, ATL, PETCOM, Jamaica Music Society, Domino’s Pizza, Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation and Suncity Radio.

The JCDC World Reggae Dance Championship began in 2006 in an effort to give national and international exposure to talents that exist in Reggae, Roots and Dancehall genres.
