I-Octane Nominated For IRAWMA And EME Awards

The International Reggae & World Music Award (“IRAWMA”) informed I-Octane of his nomination in four categories:  Best Music Video, Best New Entertainer, Most Promising Entertainer and Most Cultural/Educational Entertainer.  The 30th Anniversary of the IRAWMA celebration will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the National Academy for Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The singjay has also received nominations for an Excellence in Music and Entertainment (“EME”) Award.  He was nominated in the following categories: Song of the Year (“My Life”), Culture Artist of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Singjay of the Year.  The 2011 Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME) Awards will recognize top reggae performers in approximately 30 award categories.  The seventh annual staging of the Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME) Awards is set to take place on Saturday, March 12, 2011 on the East Lawns of the historical Devon House in Kingston.

Additionally, while in New York this past weekend I-Octane attended the Linkage Awards where he walked away with three (3) awards for Entertainer of the Year, Most Consistent Artist and Song of the Year for “My Life.”

I-Octane, who has been on tour since the beginning of February, remarks, “The outpouring and support of my music has been a surreal experience.  This is such an amazing accomplishment.  I am very happy, to say the least.  This type of recognition is something that I could not have foreseen.  Much thanks IRAWMA, EME and Linkage Awards.”

Now half way through the United States leg of his “My Life” tour, I-Octane’s remaining performances include : March 11th Panache Ballroom, Springfield, MA; March 12th, Negril, Jamaica; March 13th Tropical Beach, Montego Bay, Jamaica; March 26th Ocho Rios, Jamaica; April 9th Brentwood, MD; April 15th Orlando, FL; April 16th Tampa Bay, FL; April 23rd Brampton, Canada; April 29th Poughkeepsie, NY; April 30th St. Elizabeth, Jamaica; May 6th Dorchester, MA; May 7th Los Angeles, CA and May 14th Kingston, Jamaica. In order to promote said tour, the singjay traveled to New York back in January to conduct radio, print and television interviews, appearances and a few performances in the Tri-state area. The promotions got underway with a Press Conference and Meet and Greet held at Negril Village Restaurant and was hosted by Pat McKay of Sirius XM Radio. During that time, I-Octane appeared on premiere radio stations such as Sirius XM Radio, WBLS 107.5FM, Irie Jam Radio 93.5FM, Linkup Radio 93.5FM, Hot 97 (NYC), 105.1FM, Hot 97 (Boston), among others.
