Remembering Iconic Jamaican Music Legend – Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert aka Toots and the Maytals
The Godfather of Ska, first to coined the name of the genre Reggae on wax, and one of Jamaican music’s most prolific innovators, Frederick Nathanial Toots  Hibbert was a national treasure and international icon.

For his daughter Jenieve Hibbert, speaking on behalf of the family, “It’s unbelievable that he was snatched from us before we could say one final goodbye on this side.  It is hard to reckon that we are still grappling with the loss of a musical genius, an icon, a true legend, patriot, friend, father and family man.  Toots was highly respected and deeply loved by fans, peers and well-wishers worldwide.  His unique musical style made him one of the key architects of Jamaican music from Ska to Rock Steady to Reggae”.  She further added that “He impacted every life he touched at the core, leaving them asking for more.  With true love and one heart we celebrate the memory of his life and his legacy on this September 11, 2021, the first anniversary of his passing.”

Media and fans around the world will join in remembering the music of a man gone too soon but never to be forgotten with specials and online tributes and  Kudoboard.   #RememberingToots
