Seh Sup’m Poetry and Live Music returns to Redbones Blues Café Saturday October 25, 2014, Kingston

The show dubbed “Return from the Cold” refers to the return performances of poets Michael St. George,  Akinsanya and Samuel Gordon.

Jamaican born Canadian poet Michael St. George returns to the Seh Sup’m stage from the colder climes of his native Toronto after his last performance in Jamaica nearly two years ago.   MSG’s conscious verse and fresh musical sound have earned him international industry awards and peer recognition. Inspired by his working class upbringing in Kingston, Jamaica, MSG’s work is dedicated to justice and social equity.

Akinsanya “Lloyd Palmer is recognized worldwide as the keyboard player and dub poetry vocalist in the Uprising Roots Band, his early roots as a poet began with poetry groups such as Dub Traffickers and Poets in Unity.  He has always been known strong social commentary and emphasis on his Rastafarian faith.   He has returned to roots and now focuses on his poetic craft when not touring with the band.

CVM Television sportscaster Samuel Gordon has been described by the Poetry Society of Jamaica as a “phantom member of the Jamaican literary scene; from whom much is expected”.    Gordon has performed on all stages in Jamaica where literature is delivered; including being a featured performer at the Calabash International Literary Festival in St. Elizabeth Jamaica, at the time being the youngest performer in the Festival’s history. We look forward to his return to the Seh Sup’m stage with his stark descriptive style, as well as a purposeful offering of poetry.

Emerging Roots Reggae singer Kazam Davis will feature in the acoustic segment for this Seh Sup’m’s installment. Kazam is a humble Rastafarian who hails from the Twelve Tribes of Israel & is a talented acoustic guitar player ready to make his mark in the global positive vibration of Acoustic message Music.

His first EP entitled “Ancient Warrior” has been released in January and has been featured in several international reggae magazines, described as promoting positive reggae music to the four coreners of the globe.

The show will be hosted by Izemi-Clem and DJ Iset Sankofa plays the signature sounds of Seh Sup’m Poetry.
